Riverwalk Cafe and Music Bar
Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 at the door

Riverwalk Café and Music Bar, Symphony NH and aFire are partnering to present a world of music and centuries of inspiration in one evening. The spirit of this evening is intended to create a truly unique live music experience: violins, viola, and cello create rhythmic journeys in sound with music by Claude Debussy and Phillip Glass to match with aFire “the band of brothers from global mothers that begins with the soul of freedom and space.” aFire creates musical forms that evolve and expand, changing shape like the crimson flame from the fire, bringing the listener in to the full sensory experience.

aFire features singer/guitarist/composer, Avi Salloway (Billy Wylder/Bombino) from Boston, drummer/singer, Zamar Odongo from Nairobi, Kenya, and keyboardist/singer, Alexander Anderson from Oceanside, CA. After touring the world with the Tuareg guitar virtuoso, Bombino, Salloway returned to Boston and united with Odongo and Anderson in 2016. The three musicians are charismatic artists who have performed in over 30 countries across the Middle East, Japan, Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, North America and the Caribbean including concerts at the Coachella Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Montreal Jazz Fest, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. They have collaborated with renowned artists including Jack Johnson, Esperanza Spalding, Bombino, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Miguel, The Low Anthem, and Pete Seeger.

The Symphony NH musicians – Katharina Radlberger and Claudia Shao on violin, Elaine Leisinger on viola, and Young Sook Lee on cello – hail from Austria, Korea, China, and Boston, having performed with orchestras and small ensembles abroad and across the US. Debussy’s string quartet is buoyant and lush; an auditory landscape that mixes musical colors to create an image like the other great French Impressionists Monet or Renoir created with their paintings. Glass is known for using seemingly simple rhythmic patterns and layering the levels of music to create a fluid work with depth and current.

Riverwalk Cafe & Music Bar is a general admission venue, table seating is only guaranteed with arrival at 7:30pm day of show. Seating is first come first serve.  Please note that advanced ticket sales will end the day of the show. Fear not, however, as tickets are likely still available at the door. Door tickets are subject to price increase and sold exclusively at the venue.  Purchasing a ticket for a recurring show entitles you to one night only. If you would like to see multiple shows in a series, you need to purchase a ticket for each show.
