Symphony NH and The Riverwalk Cafe present "Symphon-Evoke" an evening of audience participation and musical co-creation featuring the Evoke Ensemble, a Boston-based jazz/fusion quintet and a quartet of Symphony NH musicians.
About the Event
Evoke Ensemble: Lennie Peterson-trombone, Tim Paul Weiner-bass, Mark Campbell-guitar, Nadjim Kebir-drums, Graham English-keyboard
Symphony NH members: Jane Dimitry-violin, Sally Merriman-bassoon, John Faieta-trombone, Volker Hahrmann-double bass.
After Evoke Ensemble performs a set, four members of Symphony NH will take the stage for an interactive presentation that includes the creative forces of audience members through songwriting, musical co-creation and collaboration.
Under the guidance of Lennie Peterson and Tim Paul Walker, this event designed for all ages will help people to demystify the musical process of composition and think more creatively in their day to day life.
"This is not your average open mic night!," Evoke Ensemble's trombonist Lennie Peterson. "Instead of the audience members being on stage with us, we have them actually take the reigns in composing the music to be played. And no one in attendance needs to know music theory or anything about composition or inprovisation. If they know the alphabet and can count to 10, they're in."
